This lovely Muscat is full of fresh honeysuckle and ripe citrus fruit.

Clairette, an unsung hero of the south, is the main grape here, undoubtedly one of many key elements to this singular wine.

This unfiltered bottling from the 2021 vintage is one of the best editions to date.

The palate is dense and ripe, yet wonderfully smooth and elegant. Racines seems to tap into the history of Les Pallières, the prestige and the high-toned elegance.

The blend is equal parts Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, and Clairette. Together, they create a wine that has a complex mouth-feel that finishes with a nice refreshing acidity.

The flavors are mostly deep and dark—stones, licorice, black olive, and blackberry—but the frame is lithe.

Intense in both color and character, the most dense and vinous I can ever remember from this cuvée.

It’s a gem, and you won’t be disappointed.

This bears a rich bouquet of wild strawberry, flowers, garrigue, and sweet spices, culminating in a long, stony finale.
