New from France & Italy

The old winemaking adage says that you only have one shot each year to get the vintage right. While this idea may be daunting to a vigneron, we see things a bit differently: one vintage per year means that we are always looking forward to a new batch of wines from all our favorite producers. From exciting new growers to domaines we have imported for decades, there is something fresh, novel, and delicious just around the corner at any moment.
The containers have been flowing through the Golden Gate as of late. Among the most recent arrivals, you’ll discover the cool 2024 vintage from regions across France, which yielded incisive wines with lower alcohol levels and an irresistible vibrancy of fruit. Their thirst-quenching nature is evident in the bracing, delicately floral Altesse from the Quenard family in the mountains of Savoie and Guy Breton’s playful cuvée Marylou, a juicy Gamay bursting with red fruit and a granitic crunch.
On the Italian side, we’ve just received the latest releases from two of our most popular new additions to the portfolio: Cantina Favaro in the Alpine foothills of Piemonte and Vignedimare in the Aeolian Islands, off the coast of Sicily. For their many differences, they share explosive aromatics that recall the local flora and mouthwatering mineral notes from their respective soils of glacial moraine and volcanic sand.
These, and much more, are featured in the collection below. While there will always be another vintage to look forward to, this may be your one shot to savor these exciting new arrivals before they’re gone.
