In Their Prime: 2015 Rosé Sampler
6-Bottle Pack
A cold bottle of rosé can certainly refresh the senses; these crisp elixirs are the stuff poolside dreams are made of. But aren’t white wines just as capable of whetting a parched palate? And yet, nobody stops drinking white for eight months out of the year—no, that would be simply ludicrous.
Not only does a good rosé remain relevant at your table throughout all four seasons, but well-crafted rosés have a tendency to improve around the one year mark. Rough edges fall gracefully into place, while overtly fruity flavors give way to nuances more closely tied to a specific terroir.
We firmly believe rosé is a year-round drink, and we even take special pleasure in these wines in the months preceding the release of the new vintage. Here we have six pink wines that are in their prime drinking hour—just hope this discounted sampler will last you until the arrival of the new crop. —Anthony Lynch

Every three or four months I would send my clients a cheaply made list of my inventory, but it began to dawn on me that business did not pick up afterwards. It occurred to me that my clientele might not know what Château Grillet is, either. One month in 1974 I had an especially esoteric collection of wines arriving, so I decided to put a short explanation about each wine into my price list, to try and let my clients know what to expect when they uncorked a bottle. The day after I mailed that brochure, people showed up at the shop, and that is how these little propaganda pieces for fine wine were born.—Kermit Lynch
