2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru “La Garenne”
Domaine Larue
Have you ever tried premier cru Puligny-Montrachet at the hands of a Saint Aubin star like Didier Larue? The grapes come from a vineyard high above the hamlet of Blagny, where there are only thirty centimeters between the limestone soil and the bedrock. Think about that for a moment. Thirty measly centimeters of pebbly earth before those hardy vines anchor themselves in whatever mineral-rich cracks and crevices they come across, gleaning scarce nutrients and suffering through droughts to produce highly concentrated grapes with amazing acidity and verve. You’ll find all the purity and energy for which Larue’s wines are known, plus the depth and richness typical of Puligny.

2023 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru “Murgers des Dents de Chien”

From the most prized terroir of Saint-Aubin, classify this blanc along with the great premiers crus of Chassagne, Puligny, and Meursault.

Larue’s white Burgundies possess purity, energy, and invariable minerality.
2023 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru “Sous Roche Dumay”
France | Burgundy
Masterfully showcasing the “noble reduction” that winemakers and consumers chase after, starting on an enticing hint of gunflint that gradually opens to hedonistic notes of butter and toast, remaining taut and poised throughout.
2019 Pouilly-Fuissé ”Climat Vieilles Vignes“
France | Burgundy
Limited to vintages where the weather hinders production of individual bottlings, Climat renders all the chart-topping qualities of the Robert family’s Pouilly Fuissé holdings.
2022 Meursault Blagny 1er Cru
France | Burgundy
The Meursault-Blagny premier cru is an outstanding, upper-slope Meursault, dominated by a stony crunch.
2022 Gevrey-Chambertin
France | Burgundy
The fruit quality is dark and earthbound, like eating blackberries in the shade.
2023 Saint-Aubin Rouge “Les Eduens”

With notes of freshly crushed black cherries and cranberries filtered through stones, this rouge would be sublime alongside roasted chicken or turkey.
2023 Saint-Aubin Rouge 1er Cru “Sur Le Sentier du Clou”
France | Burgundy
The high limestone content gives this Pinot plenty of spice and ripe cherry with great acidity and persistence.
2021 Aloxe-Corton

The Follin family’s reds are some of the most delicious I have tasted, none more so than their incredibly vibrant and pure Aloxe-Corton.

About The Region
Burgundy
In eastern central France, Burgundy is nestled between the wine regions of Champagne to the north, the Jura to the east, the Loire to the west, and the Rhône to the south. This is the terroir par excellence for producing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The southeast-facing hillside between Dijon in the north and Maranges in the south is known as the Côte d’Or or “golden slope.” The Côte d’Or comprises two main sections, both composed of limestone and clay soils: the Côte de Nuits in the northern sector, and the Côte de Beaune in the south. Both areas produce magnificent whites and reds, although the Côte de Beaune produces more white wine and the Côte de Nuits more red.
Chablis is Burgundy’s northern outpost, known for its flinty and age-worthy Chardonnays planted in Kimmeridgian limestone on an ancient seabed. Vézelay is a smaller area south of Chablis with similar qualities, although the limestone there is not Kimmeridgian.
To the south of the Côte de Beaune, the Côte Chalonnaise extends from Chagny on its northern end, down past Chalon-sur-Saône and encompasses the appellations of Bouzeron in the north, followed by Rully, Mercurey, Givry, and Montagny.
Directly south of the Chalonnaise begins the Côte Mâconnais, which extends south past Mâcon to the hamlets of Fuissé, Vinzelles, Chaintré, and Saint-Véran. The Mâconnais is prime Chardonnay country and contains an incredible diversity of soils.
