I have two favorite seasons for drinking Alsatian wine: winter, when I crave root vegetables like sweet parsnip and spicy rutabaga, and this time of year, when the brightest flavors of spring produce abound—green onions, new potatoes, sugar snap peas, and fiddlehead ferns, to name a few.
