I recently received a text from an old roommate and friend who has moved a few states away. She sent a photo of a bottle of our house Côtes du Rhône that she’d picked up in a local shop to have with dinner. It just so happened that moments before my phone chimed, I’d popped the cork on the very same bottle. Serendipity! We caught up on life, and despite the many miles between us, it felt like we might’ve been sitting across from each other.
This season, though we may not gather ’round loved ones and feasts like we usually would, we can still celebrate together in spirit. Consider wine a way to bridge the gap from table to table! Samplers make great gifts—one for you, one for them—to share evenings of wine and food, perhaps virtually.
